Title: â€Å"Teen Bras† OUTLINE Exact Purpose: After listening attentively to my speech, the audience will understand the necessary support that must be given in order for a teenage mother to succeed. With collaboration of her mother, members of the community, and some financial stand, she will be able to better herself. INTRODUCTION * Attention Grabber-close your eyes imagine (your 13 yr old little sister-or a young teenage girl close to you- comes to you with that look in her eyes. Let me tell you about an ordinary eighteen yr old young woman. She was not exceptional by anyone’s standards. She was from the Midwest but lived and went to school in Hawaii. While in her first semester at the University of Hawaii, she became pregnant. At a time that is distressful for any young woman, she was at ease thanks to the love and support of her parents. Her parents were this young womans bra. I am not talking about the actual undergarment, but more the support that it gives to the woman. Now I said all that to say this: that young woman’s name was Stanley Ann Dunham, and the child that she gave birth to was anything but ordinary. His name is Barack Obama, or Mr. President, and he is exceptional by everyone’s standards. Now I am sure that some would argue that this story could have still had the same ending regardless; however, statistics show that women who have support live in poverty and their children continue the cycle. My own experience as a teen mother with a huge bra, support team, has led me to believe that a great deal of what I have obtained is due in part to the people around me. A successful bra is made up of parents, the community, and inner strength.
